The George Zimmerman Verdict and The New Birthers!!!

AngryMob

Sometimes Mobs Just Get Tunnel Vision

The Birther Think Tank  tries to stay away from partisan politics and just focus on the Birther issue. Personally,  I am about 60% conservative and 40% progressive. Maybe 55%-45%. Anyway,  if I ever did a politically oriented blog, I would have about zero readership. The conservatives would call me a commie, and the liberals would call me a Nazi. Libertarians of both sides would be trying to hunt me down to tar and feather me, or worse.

Sooo, I am reluctant to even get into the whole Trayvon Martin cluster-f*ck at this website. But I feel compelled to say something. Here’s the reason.  I often wonder why it is that we Anti-Birthers and Obots are so fascinated by the Birther mindset. The answer I come up with is that we recognize something universal about Humanity in their various mental machinations. It’s like the Cinderella fairy-tale where people relate to the whole evil step-mother archetype and the story gets told over and over.  Birtherism is fun because it skulks around the extremes of human foolishness.  But it is hardly the only example. I see the same tendencies in the over-wrought histrionics about the Zimmerman verdict.

Let me say from the outset, that I never saw this story as anything particularly special.  Without sufficient provocation or threat, Person A jumped on a Person B, broke his nose,  and started banging his head on the concrete.  Person B shoots him. I am from Texas. If somebody jumped on me, broke my nose, and started banging my head on the sidewalk, I would have shot him, too. Then when I got up, I would have shot him a few more times for good measure. Then, I would have jumped up and down on his head with both feet until the cops got there.  Because I have seen too many scary movies where some psycho serial killer comes back to life and starts killing people all over again. It would not have made any difference to me what color the sumbitch was, I would be coloring him DEAD.

That’s my opinion. But I can understand how the less Texan people among us could focus in on the whole Unarmed-Teenager vs. Gun-Toting-Grown-Up aspect of it.  And I can see a little bit of the “Zimmerman was a busy-body” argument.  I think all that disappears the second Trayvon started battering Zimmerman, but I can see how people could find those arguments germane in the beginning. However, there was a very open trial and a jury found Zimmerman innocent.  And now the reactions, from whom I will call the Trayvonites, begin looking more and more Birtherish, and even exceeding them in large degree. It is so ridiculous, I call the Travonites The New Birthers.

First, the whole Birther movement started with SUSPICIONS. Birthers started out suspecting that Obama was born in Kenya, and from those SUSPICIONS rose all the phony COLB claims, and forged long form nonsense. It has gone so far now that otherwise intelligent people believe Obama’s mother wasn’t Stanley Dunham

Similarly, the Trayvonites started off SUSPECTING racism on Zimmerman’s part. This was egged on by a Liberal Lynch Mob who see racists behind every tree.  The police and the FBI investigated Zimmerman and from all the reports in the news, he is one of the least racist people around. He dated a Black girl, and he and his wife tutored Black children. He had Black friends who liked him. But, the racist hook was set, and the tug of war to land him in the boat with some race baiting was afoot.

Then, you have the Imaginary Scenario Creations, often constructed from erroneous facts. Birthers sit around and fantasize about Obama’s mama sneaking off to Canada or Kenya or Timbuktu prior to him being born, and then Obama’s grandparents paying a clerk to fake an Hawaiian birth certificate for him. Or, the false assertion that nobody remembers Obama at Columbia.

The Trayvonites do the same thing. For example, they imagine that Zimmerman first threatened Trayvon and maybe even pulled the gun, and then it was Trayvon who fought back for his very life. Another scenario is being advanced that Trayvon thought Zimmerman was a mad homosexual rapist about to molest him.  They also keep thumping the completely false assertion that Zimmerman was told by the police to stay in his car, and if he only had obeyed the po po, then none of this would have happened. The problem with both groups’ hypothesized scenarios, and often their facts, is that while the imagined scenario is possible, the available evidence and the real facts don’t tend to support them. The State spent a great deal of time trying to prove that Zimmerman did something wrong, and the evidence just wasn’t there.

With both groups, there seems to be some underlying preconception or preoccupation that provides the fertile soil for the Seeds of Suspicion. Many think the “Scary Black Man” Archetype is what lies beneath the Birther subconscious. That it wouldn’t matter who the President was, if he was Black, there would be Birthers. I personally don’t agree with that, but I do admit the possibility. Similarly,  the Trayvonites seem to be motivated by an underlying “Oppressed Black Man” Archetype.  That it doesn’t matter what Trayvon did, the mere suspicion that Zimmerman profiled him tells the whole story for them. GUILTY!  As for me, if an upset reader should wish to break my nose and bang my head into the concrete, I respectfully request that you profile me instead.

The mob mentality of the Birthers is encouraged by their active fantasy life. They seem to be living back in the 1950/1960s era where they play the role of anti-commie, anti-Marxist Patriots keeping America safe and secure. Therefore, the “Scary Black Man” Archetype plays right into their Foreign Invasion Fantasy.

The Trayvonite mob is no different. They seem to be living back in the 1950/1960s era where they play the role of Freedom Riders and civil rights pioneers rushing in to save the poor black folks from the KKK. Therefore, the “Oppressed Black Man” Archetype plays right into their Saving The Poor Black Man Fantasy.

Both groups are stupid and silly. The Commies aren’t even commies any more. If the Birthers want to keep America safe and secure, then please,  set up some Citizen Grand Juries and guillotines over on Wall Street. Pretty please. As for the Trayvonites, most harms suffered by Blacks in 2013 are self-inflicted wounds arising out of extremely poor personal choices. Like fantasizing you’re a gangsta, and going around trying to whup up on people. Here is a link to one interesting article I read today on this subject:

http://www.chicagonow.com/your-doubting-thomas/2012/07/what-blame-does-black-america-have-in-chicago%E2%80%99s-rising-murder-rate/

Both groups are encouraged to some degree by their respective parties as a means to energize the base. And I do mean base. As in ignoble and without moral virtue. Here the Democrats are far more culpable. For just one example,  Eric Holder and Hillary Clinton are both egging on all the unjustified hand wringing and p*ssing and moaning. Holder is trying to involve the DOJ in this mess, when the FBI has already cleared Zimmerman.

Hillary Clinton, who I actually like, came out with this bunch of crap: “No mother, no father, should ever have to fear for their child walking down a street in the United States of America.” Sure, but maybe if you encourage your kids not to jump on strangers, break their nose, and beat their heads against the concrete, they would be a little safer, too. Funny how that part gets left out. There are more examples here than I can list. I am sure there will be books written.

The Republicans are far behind the Democrats on this particular point for just one reason: Birtherism is so nutty and crazy that the silly crap tends to splash back up on the people who encourage it.  Then you got to send your clothes off to the dry cleaners, and the smell tends to linger. If Zimmerman had been found guilty, then the Republicans would be pushing the hell out of the story. But, he won.

Whereas, the idiotic Democratic racial sob story hooey is part and parcel of their political strategy. Which is why the race card and race baiting are so prevalent in the party. Even a harmless prank about the names of the Asiana pilots is racist to these people. Ho Le Fuk! Sum Ting Wong there!

Moving on to the next area of similarity, the Birthers are completely incapable of accepting either electoral or judicial losses. They are still trying to overturn the 2008 election, and make null and void the laws passed during Obama’s presidency.  Birther leaders stir up the Birther mob. The Trayvonites are up to the same thing.  Rev. Al Sharpton, the proud heir to the legacy of George Wallace and Lester Maddox, is in Cat Heaven over this. He is planning Trayvonpalooza’s in a hundred cities to stir up the Trayvonite mob. They want to overturn the verdict, rather than accept it. Oh Pretty Pleeeeaasse! Give us a do-over! Just ignore the JURY behind the curtain!

Both groups are lobbying like the dickens to get Washington to step in and pull a deus ex machina victory out for them. Zullo and his bunch are meeting with Very Important Officials in Washington, to get the eligibility issue before Congress. Same with the Trayvonites. Except, they are making some headway with Eric “Oblivious” Holder. He has actually set up a DOJ website to take email tips on this.

You know things are really bad in Fake Partisan Investigation Land when Attorney General Eric Zullo, I mean Sheriff Joe Holder, oh what’s his name, ERIC HOLDER makes Sheriff Joe and The Cold Case Posse look smart in comparison. Once again, the Trayvonites are way ahead on the Government Officious Inter-Meddling Event with it being so blatantly, stinking bad that Alan Dershowitz is calling for Prosecutor Angela Corey to be disbarred. I suspect (pray? hope?) calls for Holder’s resignation will begin to snowball.

Both sets of mobs want to change the laws. The Birthers don’t like all that 14th Amendment stuff, because well, you know just anybody who is born here gets to be a citizen, and maybe even a natural born citizen if they are honest enough to admit it. Which most aren’t. Currently, the Trayvonites are fixated on the Florida Stand Your Ground law, even though that defense was not used at the trial. There is an interesting article at Wiki on Stand Your Ground Laws:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stand-your-ground_law

From that  link we find, Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. declared in Brown v. United States (1921) (256 U.S. 335, 343 (16 May 1921)), a case that upheld the “no duty to retreat” maxim, that “detached reflection cannot be demanded in the presence of an uplifted knife”. I would submit that detached reflection cannot be demanded in the case of Mr. Head vs. Mr. Concrete!, either.  The law is colorblind, and had Zimmerman been black, and Trayvon white, I expect the verdict would have been the same.

However, both Birthers and Trayvonites seem convinced that when the outcome is not what they wish, it must be the law that is wrong. Because it sure can’t be them or their expectations that are messed up. I would not be surprised to see the Trayvonites attempt to replace the jury trial with Trial By Press. They have already made a darn good start.

Both groups have their martyrs. For the Birthers, one of them is poor old Terry Lakin, who chose to deploy not to Afghanistan, and spent six months in Leavenworth. Trayvon has become the poster child of innocent victims of gun violence. I suspect both groups would like the Post Office to honor their man with a first class postage stamp. Maybe it can be part of the Cowards and Batterers series???

And, both groups have their nutty signs. The Birthers have their idiotic “Where’s The Birth Certificate?” signs,  when the darn thing is plastered  all over the Internet. Not to be outdone in stupidity, the First Baptist Church University Park, in CHICAGO, of all places, has, “It Is Safe To Kill Black People In Amerikkka.” What a complete frigging joke. Yeah, killing black folks is pretty safe in CHICAGO. But it ain’t the KKK. It’s other young black thugs. See the ChicagoNow article linked above.

Speaking about killing people, there are numerous Birthers who openly contemplate assassination, The Secret Service has paid quite a few of them a visit. Some are locked up. Most of us here are in complete agreement with that, and we feel little sorrow for those folks, or the Walter Fitzpatricks and Darren Huffs. We are not afraid to criticize them for any violent tendencies, even though most of it is only Keyboard Commandoing. That sort of stuff is just plain wrong.

Here, the Trayvonites imitate and exceed the Birthers. Death threats are common against Zimmerman and his family. There is even violence in some cities, something neither the Tea Party nor Birthers have ever resulted to. Yet, I have seen no investigations into the Trayvonites whatsoever. Where is Operation Vigilant Eagle when you really need it?

Finally, and this is only finally to keep this article from becoming way too long, there is all the idiotic Plea de’ Hyperbole that gets thrown around in the complete disregard of the legal and factual underpinnings. How many times have we seen a Birther come out with:

But if being born in the United States is all it takes, then the son of Osama Bin Laden can be President!!!

Oh Noes! Quelle Horreur! Meanwhile, the Trayvonites are just as silly. The Guardian, not just some random Birther nut, actually ran:

Open Season On Black Boys After A Verdict Like This!!!

I suspect someone there at the Guardian must have had his head banged against some concrete, or suffered some other form of Traumatic Brain Injury. I could fill this website up with the other over-the-top statements I have seen on this subject. Which is why this whole article is  relevant. The Birthers jump straight to the Parade of Horribles and ignore all the intermediate steps like elections, and judicial hearings. The Trayvonites do the same. Poor little black kids with a handful of Skittles will be shot down in the street like dogs by hordes of psychotic creepy ass crackers. And let’s just ignore that whole intermediate jumping on somebody and beating them thingie, OK! Rah, rah, siss boom CRAP!

The delusional and mob mentality qualities of Birtherism do not stop with that issue alone.  Nor do  hysterical conspiracy theories built on groundless suspicions.  Part of the inherent fun in reporting on Birthers, and laughing at them, is the morbid joy of gawking at obvious fools and charlatans. And rejoicing that we aren’t that stupid and mendacious. Sometimes we all need to take a little personal inventory to make sure that is still true.

Upon Closer Inspection, It Seemed A Little Too Weird

This story come from Charles Johnson at the Little Green Footballs (LGF) blog. And he is all over the story! First, here is a brief excerpt:

Guardian/Observer Publishes, Then Pulls New NSA Bombshell Story Featuring Birther Wayne Madsen

Wow, a massive fail by the Guardian/Observer tonight, as their latest BREAKING BOMBSHELL story on NSA spying features Birther (and all-around tin foil hat conspiracy theorist) Wayne Madsen: Revealed: Secret European Deals to Hand Over Private Data to America | World News | the Observer.

The article’s been pulled down. . .

Here is the link to the full article:

Little Green Footballs Article

Glenn Greenwald  seems to be disputing some of the story. It’s all at the link. Meanwhile,  Mr. Madsen does not seem to be a stranger to conspiracy theories. Wiki has an article about him, and I am going to provide a lengthy excerpt from that article to show the scope of his theories:

Reporting and opinions

In 2002 he suggested to The Guardian newspaper that the United States Navy had aided in an attempted overthrow of Venezuelan president, Hugo Chavez.

In 2003 he said that he had uncovered information linking the September 11 attacks to the government of Saudi Arabia as well as to Bush administration. In 2005, he wrote that an unidentified former CIA agent claimed that the USS Cole was actually hit by a Popeye cruise missile launched from an Israeli Dolphin-class submarine.

On 17 May 2005, Madsen testified regarding American policy in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) before a Subcommittee on International Operations and Human Rights hearing on the situation in the DRC. According to the news magazine New African, Madsens testimony was “was so revealing that the mainstream Western media…have refused to print it.”

In 2005 he said that the pro-Israel lobby, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, had pressured American politicians to stay away from protests against the Iraq War.

Later that year he criticized the movie industry for indirectly causing suffering in Africa by promoting diamonds in movies like Breakfast At Tiffany’s and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. He included Leonardo DiCaprio, whose film Blood Diamond dealt with the issue, as well as Russell Simmons who is selling a line of “nonconflict diamonds.” Madsen said about them, “It’s a p.r. campaign. They should be saying, ‘Don’t buy diamonds at all.’

In a 2008 ArabNews article, Madsen is quoted as suggesting that the criminal prosecution of New York State governor Eliot Spitzer was partly due to the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad.

On June 9, 2008 he reported that unnamed “GOP dirty tricks operatives” had found a Kenyan birth certificate registering the birth of Barack Obama, Jr. on August 4, 1961. “However, the registration is a common practice in African countries whose citizens abroad have families with foreign nationals.”  This birth certificate was a cornerstone of the “Kenyan Born” subset of the birther conspiracy theories, and Madsen’s article was cited in a Washington state petition challenging Obama’s eligibility to serve. Madsen has also claimed that Obama is gay.

On April 25, 2009, Madsen reported that some unidentified UN World Health Organization officials and scientists believed the 2009 new H1N1 strain of swine flu virus appeared to be the product of U.S. military sponsored gene splicing, as opposed to natural processes. While it can not be ruled out that the virus was created in a research laboratory or vaccine factory, the most plausible explanation is that the virus is the result of modern farming techniques. New Scientist magazine cited the example of a H1N2 influenza pandemic in the 1990s that only affected pigs in the United Kingdom. This subtype of the H1N2 was also a reassortment (mix) of swine, human and avian strains.

In July 2009, Madsen released a report saying there was a “Q Group” within the National Security Agency tasked with plugging leaks of classified information and the monitoring and suppression of journalists who report on the NSA. He noted that with the approaching 10th anniversary of 9/11, the group have “made plans to stop any new revelations that would point to high-level U.S. and Israeli government involvement in the 9/11 attacks” that included the use of Wikileaks to identify potential “leakers”.

In 2010, Madsen reported in the Pakistan Daily that unnamed sources suggested that the company formerly known as Blackwater, had been conducting false-flag operations in Pakistan that were blamed on the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan.

In June 2012 Madsen self-published his sixth book. The book purports to be an expose of Barack Obama’s rise in American politics and the CIA’s role in his attaining the Presidency. He has been described by Andrew Sullivan of the Atlantic Monthly as a conspiracy theorist.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayne_Madsen

In addition to the above, here is a youtube interview he had with Alex Jones on the Birther issue:

Now from all that it is pretty obvious that Madsen is a general all-round dyed in the wool conspiracy theorist. On top of that he is a full-fledged Birther adhering to both the “Kenyan Birth” and the  “Two Citizen Parents” strains of Birtherism. From the above Wiki article, The Guardian has already cited him in 2002 on the U.S.Navy-Chavez  conspiracy theory. So they knew who he was and what they were getting with him. But what has changed since then??? All the other conspiracy theories were in the same  “The government is doing unbelievable underhanded stuff” vein.

There is a musical term called “timbre”, which is defined as the unique quality of an instrument’s sound; its “voice.” Timbre describes the difference between two tones played in the same pitch and volume. For example, timbre is what you observe when you compare the same note on a piano and a guitar, or between an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar.

I think that term applies here.  For most of his theories, Madsen is playing the  note on a grand piano. For his Birtherism, he is playing the same note on a busted kazoo, and you can hear the toilet paper membrane flapping.  One sound is tolerable, and the other is not. Before the Guardian article was pulled,  Madsen’s conspiracy theory predilections were well known. See this from Note 1 below:

In an interview published last night on the PrivacySurgeon.org blog, Madsen, who has been attacked for holding controversial views on espionage issues, said he had decided to speak out after becoming concerned about the “half story” told by EU politicians regarding the extent of the NSA’s activities in Europe.

Sooo, it does not appear to be the run of the mill tin foil stuff that caused the Guardian to yank the Yank. That was being played on the grand piano, where even badly written music can be listened to without permanent otic damage. And the original story  sounds totally believable to me.  I don’t see why other governments wouldn’t work with the NSA.

A few minutes after I published this article, I checked The Drudge Report, and the Wayne Madsen NSA story is linked there to a Salon post:

The NSA has been working with at least seven European other countries to collect personal communications data, according to Wayne Madsen, a former NSA contractor who has come forward because he does not think the public should not be “kept in the dark.” According to Madsen, Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain and Italy all have formed secret agreements with the US to submit sensitive data.

Salon Madsen NSA Article

So, the problem isn’t the story. My GUESS is that the Birtherism nonsense is what put him over the top for them. Because Birtherism always sounds like an incompetent performer is trying to sadistically annoy you with a cruel and terrible kazoo. Once that happens, you just don’t want to go to another one of that guy’s concerts no matter what instrument he has switched to.  Johnson at the LGF link above provides several tweets back and forth, to the Guardian specifically pointing out Madsens birthery opinions. So, I think there is some basis for my opinion.

This story is still developing, but for the time being, it looks like even purveyors of rabid conspiracy theories have their standards. And Birthers are persona non grata.

Revealed: secret European deals to hand over private data to America

Germany ‘among countries offering intelligence’ according to new claims by former US defence analyst

Wayne Madsen

Wayne Madsen, an NSA worker for 12 years, has revealed that six EU countries, in addition to the UK, colluded in data harvesting.

At least six European Union countries in addition to Britain have been colluding with the US over the mass harvesting of personal communications data, according to a former contractor to America’s National Security Agency, who said the public should not be “kept in the dark”.

Wayne Madsen, a former US navy lieutenant who first worked for the NSA in 1985 and over the next 12 years held several sensitive positions within the agency, names Denmark, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain and Italy as having secret deals with the US.

Madsen said the countries had “formal second and third party status” under signal intelligence (sigint) agreements that compels them to hand over data, including mobile phone and internet information to the NSA if requested.

Under international intelligence agreements, confirmed by declassified documents, nations are categorised by the US according to their trust level. The US is first party while the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand enjoy second party relationships. Germany and France have third party relationships.

In an interview published last night on the PrivacySurgeon.org blog, Madsen, who has been attacked for holding controversial views on espionage issues, said he had decided to speak out after becoming concerned about the “half story” told by EU politicians regarding the extent of the NSA’s activities inEurope.

He said that under the agreements, which were drawn up after the second world war, the “NSA gets the lion’s share” of the sigint “take”. In return, the third parties to the NSA agreements received “highly sanitised intelligence”.

Madsen said he was alarmed at the “sanctimonious outcry” of political leaders who were “feigning shock” about the spying operations while staying silent about their own arrangements with the US, and was particularly concerned that senior German politicians had accused the UK of spying when their country had a similar third-party deal with the NSA.

Although the level of co-operation provided by other European countries to the NSA is not on the same scale as that provided by the UK, the allegations are potentially embarrassing.

“I can’t understand how Angela Merkel can keep a straight face, demanding assurances from [Barack] Obama and the UK while Germany has entered into those exact relationships,” Madsen said.

The Liberal Democrat MEP Baroness Ludford, a senior member of the European parliament’s civil liberties, justice and home affairs committee, said Madsen’s allegations confirmed that the entire system for monitoring data interception was a mess, because the EU was unable to intervene in intelligence matters, which remained the exclusive concern of national governments.

“The intelligence agencies are exploiting these contradictions and no one is really holding them to account,” Ludford said. “It’s terribly undermining to liberal democracy.”

Madsen’s disclosures have prompted calls for European governments to come clean on their arrangements with the NSA. “There needs to be transparency as to whether or not it is legal for the US or any other security service to interrogate private material,” said John Cooper QC, a leading international human rights lawyer. “The problem here is that none of these arrangements has been debated in any democratic arena. I agree with William Hague that sometimes things have to be done in secret, but you don’t break the law in secret.”

Madsen said all seven European countries and the US have access to the Tat 14 fibre-optic cable network running between Denmark and Germany, the Netherlands, France, the UK and the US, allowing them to intercept vast amounts of data, including phone calls, emails and records of users’ access to websites.

He said the public needed to be made aware of the full scale of the communication-sharing arrangements between European countries and the US, which predate the internet and became of strategic importance during the cold war.

The covert relationship between the countries was first outlined in a 2001 report by the European parliament, but their explicit connection with the NSA was not publicised until Madsen decided to speak out.

The European parliament’s report followed revelations that the NSA was conducting a global intelligence-gathering operation, known as Echelon, which appears to have established the framework for European member states to collaborate with the US.

“A lot of this information isn’t secret, nor is it new,” Madsen said. “It’s just that governments have chosen to keep the public in the dark about it. The days when they could get away with a conspiracy of silence are over.”

This month another former NSA contractor, Edward Snowden, revealed to the Guardian previously undisclosed US programmes to monitor telephone and internet traffic. The NSA is alleged to have shared some of its data, gathered using a specialist tool called Prism, with Britain’s GCHQ.

ACHTUNG!!! Is There A Birther ODESSA File???

orly plastic surgery 1963_s01e05_the-sixth-finger

Orly Said It Was Normal For Her Head To Swell A Little After Plastic Surgery, But Her Receptionist Still Suspected Malpractice

What many people do not realize is that the Frederick Forsythe book, The Odessa File (1972) and the movie in 1974, were based on a REAL organization. This is what Wiki says, in part:

The ODESSA, from the German Organisation der ehemaligen SS-Angehörigen, meaning “Organization of Former SS Members,” is believed to have been an international Nazi network set up towards the end of World War II by a group of SS officers. The purpose of the ODESSA was to establish and facilitate secret escape routes, later known as ratlines, to allow SS members to avoid their capture and prosecution for war crimes. Most of those fleeing Germany and Austria were helped to South America and the Middle East.

Several books by those involved in the War Crimes Commission (including T.H. Tetens and Joseph Wechsberg) have verified the organization’s existence and provided details of its operations. Wechsberg studied Simon Wiesenthal’s memoirs on the ODESSA and verified them with his own experiences in the book The Murderers Among Us.

However, while Nazi concentration camp supervisors denied the existence of the ODESSA, neither US War Crimes Commission reports nor American OSS officials did. In interviews of outspoken German anti-Nazis by Joseph Wechsberg, former American OSS officer and member of the US War Crimes Commission, it was verified that plans were made for a Fourth Reich before the fall of the Third,[3] and that this was to be implemented by reorganizing in remote Nazi colonies overseas: “The Nazis decided that the time had come to set up a world-wide clandestine escape network.”

“They used Germans who had been hired to drive U.S. Army trucks on the autobahn between Munich and Salzburg for the ‘Stars and Stripes,’ the American Army newspaper. The couriers had applied for their jobs under false names, and the Americans in Munich had failed to check them carefully… (the) ODESSA was organized as a thorough, efficient network… Anlaufstellen (ports of call) were set up along the entire Austrian-German border… In Lindau, close to both Austria and Switzerland, (the) ODESSA set up an ‘export-import’ company with representatives in Cairo and Damascus.”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ODESSA

There is a lot more at the link.

I am beginning to suspect that Birthers are making the same kind of ODESSA plans. I call it Organisation von “Dementieren Eignung Sprecher” schick abermals! This translates roughly from the pidgin German to, “Organization of “Eligibility Denier Spokesmen” sophisticated again!”

I am just getting into this theory, so I will need to do more research.  But, I wanted to go ahead and float the trial balloon so that others can start keeping an eye open, too. Anyway, let’s look at a few of the more outspoken Birthers who seemed to have disappeared from the Birther scene, or tuned it waaaaay down low! Like I said, I am sure there are many more:

Dean Haskins seemed to have given up Birfing last year.

Jerome Corsi, formerly of World Net Daily pronounced Birtherism a lost cause in April 2013.

Mark Gillar, of the Tea Party Power Hour, seems to have taken a sabbatical from Birtherism about the same time.

Leo Donofrio, former Birther attorney extraordinaire shut down his Birther blog in March 2012.

Dianna Cotter, ertswhile Birther Reporter seemed to have shut down about the same time as Donofrio.

Other Birther websites seem to be adding more and more “patriot” and “anti-big government” stories to the mix. Today, The Post and Email has 15 stories on the front page.  Not one of them is completely a Birtherism story. There are stories about Birthers, such as Darren Huff. There are stories about government overreach and harassment of Birthers.  But no purely 100% Birther story.

ObamaReleaseYourRecords has a banner blurb that reads Change is Coming and promises Groundbreaking News Coverage is Coming Soon! I suspect that website will begin the transition to Patriot news, also.

It only makes sense that the more prominent type Birthers would make plans for a life after all this silliness finally takes it rightful place next to the Moon Landing Deniers. Yet, many of them can’t just get plastic surgery, do a name change, and then move to South America.  They have to continue paying their mortgages, and paying back advances on book deals and stuff like that.  They have to transition and hope that nobody notices or remembers.

If they just quit, and go back to working as dentists, and lawyers, and mechanics, then they will lose all the attention they have grown used to. So, I suspect they have been making organized and structured plans to get to a new life outside of Birtherism where they can still get attention without all the negative moon bat aura.  At least that is my opinion.

Sooo, keep your eyes and ears open! Watch the RATLINES carefully!

Note 1. The Image. This is from the old TV show, The Outer Limits.  It is available on Hulu, and on the THIS channel. This particular episode, The Sixth Finger,  starred David McCallum and as Wiki notes, you would see the pointed ears again!

Influence on Star Trek

A few of the monsters reappeared in Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek series later in the 1960s. A prop head from “Fun and Games” was used in Star Trek to make a Talosian appear as a vicious creature. The moving microbe beast in “The Probe” later was used as the ‘Horta’ in “The Devil in the Dark”, and operated by the same actor, Janos Prohaska. The process used to make pointed ears for David McCallum in “The Sixth Finger” was reused in Star Trek as well.

The “ion storm” seen in “The Mutant” (a projector beam shining through a container containing glitter in liquid suspension) became the transporter effect in Star Trek. The black mask from “The Duplicate Man”, is used by the character Dr. Leighton in “The Conscience of the King”. The Megazoid, from “The Duplicate Man” and the Empyrean from “Second Chance” (1964), was seen briefly near Captain Christopher Pike, other cages in the first Star Trek pilot “The Cage”.

Gene Roddenberry was often present in the Outer Limits’ studios, and hired several of its staff, among them Robert Justman and Wah Chang for the production of Star Trek.[7]

Well, my few months sabbatical hasn’t seen any improvement in Birther Butterdezillion’s mental condition. Here is her latest bit of ramblings. Like always, Butterdezillion utilizes all 11 dimensions contemplated by cosmological string theory, sometimes with an extra universe or two tossed in for good measure. Please keep in mind that what seems incoherent in Euclidian space-time, is extremely obvious to the entities found in the 8th dimension. Or so I have been told.

I will summarize her thesis to protect any readers from madness, but if you are curious, and strong mentally, and a risk taker, here is the link to her Internet Article entitled Part Four: Three Bizarre Events We All Scratched Our Heads At.

http://butterdezillion.wordpress.com/2013/04/05/part-four-three-bizarre-events/

The underlying bizarre events revolve around the actions of Hawaii Governor Neil Abercrombie, and Hollywood reporter Mike Evans in late 2010 and early 2011.  Abercrombie said he planned to put an end to the birth certificate questions for his good friend, the President. Then, he backed off his promise. Then, on several radio shows, celebrity gossip purveyor Mike Evans stated that Gov. Abercrombie, a long time acquaintance, told him he couldn’t find a copy of Obama’s birth certificate.

Later, Evans recanted and said that he hadn’t actually had any conversations with Abercrombie. Yeah, that’s a little weird. Was Evans drunk, or just running off at the mouth? Or, did Abercrombie actually tell him that because Abercrombie was either drunk, or just running off at the mouth? Were there black helicopters hovering in the vicinity???  It is an incident that someone doing a conspiracy theory television show about Birthers,  50 years in the future, will relate with spooky music playing in the background.

Had Butterdezillion just stopped at that point, then it would have been a decent enough Birther article about an important piece of Birther lore. Kind of like the book publisher’s blurb where Obama claimed to be born in Kenya, or the Connecticut social security number. She provided links to the various statements, and transcripts. If you are the kind of person who likes hiccups, then this would have had you breathing into a paper bag for a few seconds.

But. . . being Butterdezillion. . . she just has to make that out-of-body astral flight to the Crazy Dimension.  She goes and pulls the Jared Loughner Arizona shooting spree, and the resignation of Neal Palafox, Director of the Hawaii Department of Health, into the storyline. And, for her obligatory statutory confusion motif, she goes to the Hawaii Code and brings in this little  goody:

§338-17.7  Establishment of new certificates of birth, when.  (a)  The department of health shall establish, in the following circumstances, a new certificate of birth for a person born in this State who already has a birth certificate filed with the department and who is referred to below as the “birth registrant”:

(5)  Upon request of a law enforcement agency certifying that a new birth certificate showing different information would provide for the safety of the birth registrant; provided that the new birth certificate shall contain information requested by the law enforcement agency, shall be assigned a new number and filed accordingly, and shall not substitute for the birth registrant’s original birth certificate, which shall remain in place.

Based on various and sundry silly premises, Butterdezillion had previously concluded that Obama had been given a new birth certificate at the request of law enforcement. If you like nonsense verse, and are burned out on Mother Goose and Lewis Carroll, then here is the link:

http://butterdezillion.wordpress.com/2013/03/28/part-three-the-law-enforcement-provision/

Now, like a physicist working on the Grand Unified Theory, she imports this nonsense into the Abercrombie-Evans-Palafox Equations. Here is her brilliant reasoning, from the first link above:

And that’s why I think they fired him [Palafox]: he wasn’t willing to play their game. He was the snag. They had the request from law enforcement to create a new BC for Obama to protect him from those “violent Arizona birthers”, the stage had been set for it to be released…. And Palafox wouldn’t go along with it. That’s why Abercrombie was caught off-guard by the Star-Advertiser columnist’s question in bizarre event #1; his own HDOH Director stood in the way of the plan so it was in limbo at the time of the question. That’s why Abercrombie hadn’t found a birth certificate by the time Mike Evans called him. And once they saw Jack Cashill, Peter Boyles, etc bring attention to the first 2 bizarre stories, they knew they were going to eventually have to show a BC, and to do that they had to get rid of the person standing in the way. In a single day they “convinced” Mike Evans to change his story and Neal Palafox to resign. But Palafox quietly let the world know there was something rotten in Hawaii… (sort of like a red flag…)

Why wouldn’t he go along with it, when the law allows a new BC to be created at the request of law enforcement? Because the statute says that is only allowable for somebody who was born in Hawaii and has a birth certificate on file. . .

And not just any old birth certificate on file BUT a legally valid one, as opposed to all the legally invalid ones on file that she had dreamed into existence in a previous flight to LaLa Land. The reason has to be Obama’s safety. It would make little sense for the conspirators to reason, “Let’s stay legit, and we’ll use the safety provision in the Hawaii Code to get a legally valid birth certificate on file, and we will be totally NOT legit and lie about it being for the purposes of safety.”

If Abercrombie and his cronies were of a mind to cheat, why not just cheat and leave no paper trails??? Because this is where her inter-dimensional fuzzy-time fuzzy-logic breaks down.  The whole “safety” thing would be batpoop nutty to everybody, Obama friend and Obama foe alike.  I suspect that the only person in the world who would find it plausible is Butterdezillion.

How in the frigging world would a new birth certificate protect Obama from crazy gun-toting Birthers???  I am scratching my head like crazy, and I don’t have lice. Heck, we don’t have but one President at a time. We all know what he looks like. He even has his own distinctive airplane, a bunch of limousines, and a healthy contingent of reporters and secret service guys. And a couple of teleprompters.

In Butterdezillion’s Universe, was Obama ever about to slip into witness protection? Was a plastic surgeon waiting on tap somewhere to crop his ears and do a nose job?  Were crafty and clever Secret Service guys high-fiving each other on their decision to change Obama’s birth certificate and planning a celebration at Foxy’s Strip Club??? Was Joe Biden somewhere working with a speech coach like in The King’s Speech movie??? (God rest his soul!)

In her dimension, do hitmen routinely check out the birth certificates before putting their sniper rifles together up there on the grassy knolls of America??? Would a Birther hitman be fooled if Barack Obama’s name was changed to Fred Smith??? Envisage the scene there on a rooftop somewhere behind an air conditioning vent.  The assassin has everything lined up, and he texts this to his handler:

Should I ABORT???  Not sure I have the right current American President!!!

And would the Birther handler send an operative to Honolulu to double check the birth index, and would a text come back to the rooftop:

ABORT!!! Not sure who the hell this guy is!!! Wait until we can get an original long form birth certificate or microfilm!!!

Sadly, I suspect for Butterdezillion the answer to all these questions is YES!!!

Cryptobirfology and The Search For The Elusive OctPaw

Unlike Most Kittehs, Puff Appreciated Being Thrown Into The Family Swimming Pool

Martha Trowbridge of The Terrible Truth Blog is looking over her shoulders. She is convinced a Secret Society of Obots exists which engages in all kinds of nefarious business across the intertubz.  Here are a few lines from her latest Internet Article:

Truth, Obliterated: The “Obama Conspiracy Theory” Psychological Assault Weapon

America, if you’ve felt assaulted every time you seek the Truth about the personal history of “Barack Obama II”, you haven’t been over-reacting.

You have been assaulted.

Assaulted by the greatest Psychological Assault Weapon ever levied against Americans.

It’s name?

The “Obama Conspiracy Theory” Psychological Assault Weapon.

Its purpose?

To personally demolish you – thereby dis-engaging you from discourse about Obama’s personal history – so that whatever “Obama” Truth you’re on to, gets obliterated!

The “Obama Conspiracy Theory” Psychological Assault Weapon [OCTPAW] was designed by The Obama Campaign to utterly destroy those who question the “Official Obama Narrative”. Since its initial deployment in 2007, this weapon of words has been extremely effective – with ridicule, mocking, shaming, scolding, lying, accusation, word-twisting, confusion creation, threatening and intimidation embedded in its warhead.

It’s precision-designed to knock us, full force, back on our heels.

Here is the link to the full Internet Article, which is worth a read, out of morbid curiosity, if nothing else:

http://terribletruth.wordpress.com/2012/02/17/truth-obliterated-the-obama-conspiracy-theory-psychological-assault-weapon/

First, let me say that I agree that it would be very possible to orchestrate Internet response teams using sock puppets. And, I am sure some Companies are already doing it for marketing and damage control purposes.  You don’t have to imagine that some Birthers might actually be Obots punking the Birthers. The Fogbow Obots admit to such, and laugh themselves silly about it.  I don’t blame them.

There are probably other groups doing the same thing. I was once asked on the old Gretawire Forum, if I was secretly a CABAL Obot whatever that is, and warned about some undercover Birthers pretending to be Obots. Something like that, but I could never figure out what they were talking about and they erased their message really quick.  So who knows???

But there is a more simple explanation why the Obots might appear more focused and consistent.

One, there are a lot less Obot/anti-Birther websites and they are information friendly. There are two primary Obot websites: Obama Conspiracy Theories and The FogbowObots and anti-Birthers, like me, who have their own blogs post links to articles there or are included on the blogroll.  The Obots only have to check one of those two sites and they can stay fairly current on most major issues.  Reference to 3 or 4 more blogs provides the remaining coverage of the news, even down to the micro level of providing individual Birther comments on selected threads across the web. Information is shared and discussed by all, and through this process, bad information is sifted out and the more correct facts and legal interpretations rise to the top.

Birthers, on the other hand, are spread out among a dozen or more main websites and hundreds of blogs.  In addition, new Birther blogs and websites are coming online almost daily, often recycling discredited legal theories or dis-proven facts.  But there is no mechanism, or even desire, among the Birthers to weed out admittedly bad or false information. In fact, Birthers actively discourage discussion and disagreement. Obots and anti-Birthers are usually not permitted to post at Birther websites, so bad information there has an infinite shelf life. Birthers live in their own insular world. It is an echo chamber.

Two, there is no consistent agreement among the  Birthers on why they are Birthers in the first place.  There are two citizen-parent Birthers,  phony Birth Certificate Birthers,  British Citizen Birthers, and 14th Amendment Sovereign Citizen Birthers.  That list is far from complete. Obots and Anti-Birthers do not suffer from all these internal inconsistencies and confusion. That is why the Obot/anti-Birther response to the Birther mis-interpretation of Minor v. Happersett remains consistent across all their websites and in discussion threads and forums.  No one had to  program the response. It is the logical result of having a good working knowledge of the applicable facts and law.

So if Trowbridge is looking for a sinister mastermind to explain the superior Obot organizational skills, it does not require a George Soros or “Uncle FredNewman.  First, do the arithmetic.  Next, look at the  Birther internal confusionAlso look at the Birther paranoia and the tendency to stifle free and open discussions. Birthers just don’t know their stuff and are not willing to learn. Those are the root causes that lead Trowbridge to feel overwhelmed by the Obot and anti-Birther response.

Trowbridge also slams the Obot’s for  ridicule, mocking, shaming, scolding, lying, accusation, word-twisting, confusion creation, threatening and intimidation.

Those are not Psychological Assault Weapons. They are just the natural results of Birthers believing really stupid things right out in public.  It happens to most people who believe really stupid things. Which do you think Moon Landing Deniers get thrown at them more often,  bouquets of roses, or cat calls and rotten veggies???  With all due respect, if a person is stupid enough to admit believing The Law of Nations referred to in the U.S. Constitution is Emerich de Vattel’s book, then they ought to be shamed, scolded, and ridiculed.

If a person thinks that the 99.9999% of the Conservative lawyers and judges in the country who don’t have eligibility concerns are in on a conspiracy, or that there is something screwy with every single judge who tosses their silliness out of court, or that French law is the source of Americans law. . . then that person should expect  to get bushel baskets of ridicule emptied out on them. If a person invents and spreads a Bari Shabazz story with NO EVIDENCE, then that person should be prepared to be shamed and scolded. They deserve it.

Additionally, pointing out mistakes to stupid people is not confusion creation — it is confusion destruction.  People should get smarter, not dumber when mistakes are corrected. The same is true of the other canards. In fact, from my experiences, it is the Birthers who lie, accuse, twist words, threaten and intimidate. How else does Minor v. Happersett become a magical precedent without word-twisting and lying by Leo Donofrio, Esq. and Mario Apuzzo, Esq.???  How else does not necessary to resolve these doubts get contorted by Birthers into “YIPPEE, they resolved the doubts in our favor!!!” ??? You gotta twist  them words real hard to make ’em say that.

You want threatening and intimidation??? Check out Orly Taitz’s reactions to any judge who rules against her, like Malihi’s Origin is Iranian??? Or, read the Internet Article here about Joseph Farah, which lists the name calling and slurs found in just one of his writings:

https://birtherthinktank.wordpress.com/2012/02/14/joseph-farah-goes-over-the-edge/

Plus,  Trowbridge obviously does not know her Obots very well. Dr. Conspiracy is pretty laid back.  He does his blog and covers the issues and provides an organized resource. If any of the Obots are organized to accomplish what is alleged, it is more likely the Fogbow Obots.  You can just tell by reading the two websites which group is more combative.  But the FogBow Obots would not hide. Nope, they would do it,  tell you they did it right to your face, and then laugh at you. Which tells me that Trowbridge didn’t do her homework before writing the Internet Article or it would have been called FOGPAW.

And that full force which knocks the hapless Birther back on his heels??? That would be The Brick Wall of REALITY. If someone persists in running head long into it, yeah, I bet they are going to stagger back some. Maybe Trowbridge should take her own advice. Get off the Internet and start doing things with her family and friends.  Go to that bar-b-que and just enjoy the food and fellowship.  Forget this stupid Birther nonsense.  Because if she doesn’t, and she  keeps up the delusional ranting,  she will probably find her friends and family forgetting to invite her. If they haven’t already.

Note 1. Cryptobirfology.  A new branch of science dedicated to the search for Birther facts and legal conclusions whose existence has not been proven. It is based on Cryptozoology, about which Wiki says:

Cryptozoology (from Greek κρυπτός, kryptos, “hidden” + zoology; literally, “study of hidden animals”) refers to the search for animals whose existence has not been proven. This includes looking for living examples of animals that are considered extinct, such as dinosaurs; animals whose existence lacks physical evidence but which appear in myths, legends, or are reported, such as Bigfoot and Chupacabra; and wild animals dramatically outside their normal geographic ranges, such as phantom cats or “ABCs” (an initialism commonly used by cryptozoologists that stands for Alien Big Cats).

It is possible that Puff,  the OctPaw above, is a mutant Alien Big Cat.

Emerich de Vattel— A Vampire???

Emerich de Vattel Upon Hearing the Ankeny v. Governor Decision

OMG!!!, there I was debating with a Vattle Birther (which is my silly way to spell Vattel to poke fun at the Vattel Birthers), and suddenly IT CAME TO ME!!! In one of the court cases which proves the Vattle Birthers are wrong, the case of Wong Kim Ark, decided in 1898,  first it says this:

In Minor v. Happersett, Chief Justice Waite, when construing, in behalf of the court, the very provision of the Fourteenth Amendment now in question, said: “The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that.” And he proceeded to resort to the common law as an aid in the construction of this provision. 21 Wall. 167.

Then it says this:

It thus clearly appears that, by the law of England for the last three centuries, beginning before the settlement of this country and continuing to the present day, aliens, while residing in the dominions possessed by the Crown of England, were within the allegiance, the obedience, the faith or loyalty, the protection, the power, the jurisdiction of the English Sovereign, and therefore every child born in England of alien parents was a natural-born subject unless the child of an ambassador or other diplomatic agent of a foreign State or of an alien enemy in hostile occupation of the place where the child was born.

III. The same rule was in force in all the English Colonies upon this continent down to the time of the Declaration of Independence, and in the United States afterwards, and continued to prevail under the Constitution as originally established.

Sooo, I got to thinking, “What if the Vattle Birthers were right??? What if Emerich de Vattel was the ORIGINAL SOURCE of English  common law on natural born citizenship???  Vattel would have had to be around in 1598, for there to have been three centuries of law on this in 1898 . Sooo, I double-checked wiki and LO AND BEHOLD!!!, Vattel was allegedly born on April 25 1714 and died  December 28, 1767, But how could this be if he was the ORIGINAL SOURCE of English law back in 1598???

There is only one explanation- – –Emerich de Vattel was, and is, a VAMPIRE!!!  He was there in 1598,  an alien, residing in the dominions possessed by the Crown of England, in England!!!  Probably a judge, presiding at a Knight Court???

Now don’t laugh. I know Halloween is this month, but this explains a lot.  Maybe the Vattle Birthers aren’t a CULT like I have previously stated, but instead poor, innocent victims of this centuries old VAMPIRE, who has bit them in the neck and turned them into Renfield-like zombies un-able to read and think for themselves, left scrounging through dumpsters for little tidbits of law and scraps of language upon which they subsist. Anybody who has ever debated them knows exactly what I am talking about.

This also explains all the Vattle Birther obsession with BLOOD lines and how, when you just kill a Vattle Birther WITH LOGIC, they just get back up like nothing ever happened and keep on repeating the same stuff!!!  And everybody knows that all the really KEWL vampires come from Europe. Like Dracula. Sooo, Switzerland has mountains and castles just like Transylvania.

Sooo, even if I am wrong, I am going to err on the side of safety and NOT invite any Vattle Birthers into my home. Plus, I am going to keep some garlic on hand.

Tee Hee! Tee Hee!

Bonus: Here is a youtube video of Renfield and The Master’s Song:

Bonus TWO: The Lyrics To The Master’s Song from the Dracula Musical: (Just try to tell me this isn’t really about Vattle Birthers!!! LOL!!!)

Renfield:

Two years ago I was minding my business
Tending my garden at sunrise.
I heard a voice in my head that intrigued me
I answered yes, was I unwise?
Thus it began all the long preparation he needed for his plan
He cannot enter without invitation and I was his man

That’s why; I always know what he’s thinking.
I always know when he’s drinking and from whom,
When he slips in some ones room.
Oh yes, I always know who he’s after
I hear his triumphant laughter in my head
When he finds some new well bred, undead.

He sails across the seven seas
His ship cuts through the waves
And when the crimson moon comes up
He drinks the blood of slaves
We have waited long, for the masters song
It’s time to join in the chorus
Sing his song sing it loud and strong
And the master may give you new life.

I can’t speak of the master
You must understand that all of this is confidential
Take my word for it preparedness is quintessential
I’m ready, I’m ready, and soon I’ll be free
I’ll be free…

The schooner runs before the storm
The crew is all below
The captain fights to steer a course
The master strikes him so!

Trust me; I always know what he’s thinking
I always know where he’s sinking those sharp teeth
I know where to send the wreath!
Master, they think a locked door prevents you
You’re on your way I can sense you
Through the window, through the grating
Through the floorboard, through the fanlight
Comes the mist. And your kissed!

Pooperscooping The Vattel Birthers – No. 1 (The Floating “But”)

Vattle Birther's Scat

Introduction:

One of the things that is sooo frustrating about the Vattle Birthers (my funny name for the Emerich de Vattel CULT) is that it is difficult to distinguish between the flat out liars and the totally stupid ones. If you knew for sure they were intentionally lying, then they could be put into a Vattle Birther equivalent of the Obotski Hall of Shame.  The sheer degree of idiocy exhibited  in their theories prevents any rational discerning of which is which.  Therefore, the real screen name of the Vattle  Birther and link will be omitted.

Pooperscooping the Vattle Birthers is a series dedicated to presenting actual Vattle Birther statements of Dogma (pun intended),  or intentional misrepresentations (who can tell the difference???)  in all its rancid glory.  Odds are, if you ever engage a Vattle Birther, you will encounter some variation of this argument.

The Floating But

The Sane Proposition: The law says that a person born in U.S. territory of parents who are not “under foreign jurisdiction” (not diplomats, foreign military at war with the U.S., etc.) are citizens by birth, and the law does not distinguish between “citizen by birth” and “natural-born”.

The Vattle Birther Response:

The Supreme Court makes the distinction. It says one term is defined by the Constitution while the other is defined OUTSIDE of the Constitution:

NBC: “The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that.”

Citizenship by birth: “But citizenship by birth is established by the mere fact of birth under the circumstances defined in the Constitution.”

NBC, the court said is being born in the country to parents who were its citizens. Citizenship by birth is defined by the birth clause of the 14th amendment: Every person born in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof … with the latter half being defined as having parents who have domicil and permanent residence, such as had Wong Kim Ark:

The Squeeky Smackdown:

You are NOT being sincere!!! Here is what you said:

” NBC: “The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that.”

Citizenship by birth: “But citizenship by birth is established by the mere fact of birth under the circumstances defined in the Constitution.”
==========

By putting the “But” where you did you made it read the way you wanted, like NBC was one thing and “citizenship by birth” was another. BUT, here is the actual COMPLETE quotation:

As stated by the Court in the historic decision United States v. Wong Kim Ark, 169 U.S. 649, 702,

Citizenship by naturalization can only be acquired by naturalization under the authority and in the forms of law. But citizenship by birth is established by the mere fact of birth under the circumstances defined in the Constitution.

Sooo, now it is clear that the second part, citizenship by birth is being contrasted with NATURALIZATION, not with NATURAL BORN CITIZEN like you tried to get away with!!!

Because I googled your words and it sent me here which made it clear what you were trying to do:

Perez v. Brownell

I guess I am going to have to google it every time you quote something.

==============================

Later on, after this Internet Debate ended, I had a chance to go look for the two sentences that were wrongly and misleadingly combined. The first sentence came from the top of page 655 of Wong Kim Ark, and the second sentence came from the bottom of page 702. The  first sentence was part of paragraph stating that the meaning of the term natural born citizen would have to be determined by going to the common law.  The second sentence was, as stated above, contrasting natural born citizenship as being in the constitution and naturalization being controlled by legislation. Somewhere in those 47 intervening pages, the Court said the common law and the constitution were saying the same thing, not opposite things as implied by the Vattle Birther.

For shame, Vattle Birther, for shame!!!

Are The Vattle Birthers An Internet Cult??? Yes!!! (A White Paper)

Squeeky, Preparing to Bopp The Hale Out Of The Vattle Cultists

There are two kinds of Birthers,  the smart ones who just have a healthy skepticism about government and documents, and the stupid ones who think it takes two citizen parents to be a natural born citizen.  I call the second kind Vattle Birthers because of their worship of Emerich Vattel, a 300 year old dead Swiss guy, who they say the Constitution based it’s natural born citizen language on.

Now, most people are familiar with cults, and there are a lot of websites that tell you how to identify them. But, in the past these cults had to exist on an in-person level. Cults had their own little camp or compound, and they could just whisk somebody away and brainwash them in person.  This website has a lot of information on your average run-of-the-mill cult:

http://www.howcultswork.com/

With the Internet, however, there is no longer a need to actually physically recruit or manage cult members. Now it can all be done online. As far as I know, this is the first Internet Article to deal with Internet Cults, and the changes in how to identify this new kind of cult. For example, cults no longer have to physically  isolate its members from their families.  The cult can do the same thing by occupying the cult member’s time in the pursuit of whatever the cult objective is.   One objective I think the website above either omitted, or did not identify better,  is the desire of the cult leader and his inner circle to get some R-E-S-P-E-C-T. . .RESPECT, that is, to be recognized as some sort of great leader or authority on something.

Before the Internet, a cult leader would do better if he had some kind of physical presence or physical charisma. After the Internet, a cult leader has the ability to sit home in his or her underwear at a keyboard and move mountains so to speak. But the problem is, how do you identify a Internet Cult as something distinct and different from just motivated activists???  It can’t just be contrarianism.  For example, anti-Global Warming adherents are not a cult. They just don’t believe the case for global warning and concentrate on science and research. On the other hand, Moon Landing Deniers probably skate pretty close to, or over, the edge of being a cult.  But what is the difference???  By the Internet’s very anonymous and impersonal nature you lose a lot of the signs and indicators listed in the above Internet Article. I believe the key is to concentrate on three factors:

1. The Information Control aspects inherent the subject belief system;

2. The degree of irrationality and refusal to face facts in the subject belief system;

3. The degree of conspiracy necessary for the subject belief to be to true.

The above website discusses Mind Control:

Those who control the information control the person. In a mind control cult any information from outside the cult is considered evil, especially if it is opposing the cult. Members are told not to read it or believe it. Only information supplied by the cult is true. One cult labels any information against it as “persecution” or “spiritual pornography”, another cult calls it “apostate literature” and will expel you from the group if you are caught with it. Cults train their members to instantly destroy any critical information given to them, and to not even entertain the thought that the information could be true.

Common sense tells us that a person who does not consider all information may make an unbalanced decision. Filtering the information available or trying to discredit it not on the basis of how true it is, but rather on the basis of how it supports the party line, is a common control method used throughout history.

Now, I can tell you from debating Vattle Birthers, they score very high in this first factor. Anybody who disagrees with them is automatically a Obot, even me, who was a dedicated Common Sense Suspicious Birther. According to them, they alone possess the knowledge of the meaning of the term natural born citizen, in spite of the fact that the courts have defined it differently.

Several Vattle Birthers took their case to a Indiana Court, saying that it took two citizen parents to be a natural born citizen. They lost.  The Indiana court people said:

Based upon the language of Article II, Section 1, Clause 4 and the guidance provided by Wong Kim Ark, [A U.S. Supreme Court Case!!!] we conclude that persons born within the borders of the United States are “natural born Citizens” for Article II, Section 1 purposes, regardless of the citizenship of their parents. Just as a person “born within the British dominions [was] a natural-born British subject” at the time of the framing of the U.S. Constitution, so too were those “born in the allegiance of the United States [] natural-born citizens.

Now, you would expect a Vattle Birther to disagree with this, but the ones I was debating just called the Indiana Court people, “Hillbilly Hoosiers” and disregarded it. Plus the U.S. Supreme Court case it was quoting!!! Here is the whole Indiana thingy in case you want to read it for yourself, which is NOT what a cult member would ever want you to do!!!

http://nativeborncitizen.wordpress.com/2009/11/12/ankeny-v-gov-of-indiana-natural-born-defined-born-on-us-soil-regardless-of-citizenship-parents/

Moving on, the Vattle Birthers also score very high in the second factor, the degree of irrationality and refusal to face facts in the subject belief system. For example, the Vattle Birthers will tell you that the case of Minor versus Happersatt, another U.S. Supreme Court case about women’s right to vote,  is their most important case of all and proves that it takes two citizen parents to be a natural born citizen.  In fact, the Minor case does NOT discuss whether somebody born in America who has foreign born parents is a natural born citizen or not. Oh how, you might ask, do we know this??? Because the Minor case says so!!! Here:

The Constitution does not, in words, say who shall be natural-born citizens. Resort must be had elsewhere to ascertain that. At common-law, with the nomenclature of which the framers of the Constitution were familiar, it was never doubted that all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens became themselves, upon their birth, citizens also. These were natives, or natural-born citizens, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners. Some authorities go further and include as citizens children born within the jurisdiction without reference to the citizenship of their parents. As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first. For the purposes of this case it is not necessary to solve these doubts.

Sometimes, what the Vattle Birthers do is just ignore the part that I have bolded and italicized and try to sneak it past people. But somebody always catches them and then they start lying and misreading stuff all over the place to try to say it doesn’t say that at all. Well, this is just obviously IRRATIONAL and a REFUSAL TO FACE FACTS. But this is not the only place the Vattle Birthers do this. No, in fact they are sooo trying to avoid American law, that they dig up a dead Swiss guy named Emerich Vattel, to try to make him say it takes two citizen parents when he wasn’t even talking about America and what he said didn’t even apply to old English cases. This kind of stuff just goes on day and night with the Vattle Birthers!!!

Finally, on the third factor, the degree of conspiracy necessary for the subject belief to be to true, the Vattle Birthers are just OFF THE CHART!!! Way before the election, everybody knew that Obama’s father was some guy from Kenya who was here as a student and was not a U. S. citizen. But nobody important objected to Obama running for office, because the law says that if you are born in America, and are not a diplomat’s kid, or a invading soldier, then you are a natural born citizen. You don’t have to get naturalized or anything. Sooo, if Obama was ineligible, then every Republican or conservative lawyer, every Republican or conservative judge, and Hillary Clinton’s lawyers and judges would have had to ignore what the Vattle Birthers say is the law. And must continue to ignore it. This is just total BS!!!  It didn’t happen that way, and the Vattle Birthers are just plain wrong.

Sooo, under this new type of cult, The Internet Cult, I think I have proven that the Vattle Birthers are cultists. There is probably a lot more academic work that has to be done on this topic I have invented, but this kind of stuff  is what you are supposed to do when you have a Think Tank- – – – THINK!!!

Birtherism as Conspiracy Theory??? (Lies the Obotski Taught Us, No.1)

Orville Obotski, Warning the World About The Birthers

The Obotski have maintained since the beginning that Birtherism is a form of “Conspiracy Theory” in an effort to marginalize the Birther Movement. In fact, the leading Obotski web site is even called “Obama Conspiracy Theories“. According to the Obotski,  Birthers are merely another in a long line of paranoid conspiracy nuts which include The 9-11 Truthers, and Moon Landing Deniers.  Let us take a closer look at this accusation. It is The Birther Think Tank’s position that NOT all “Conspiracy Theories” are alike.

Legally, a conspiracy is defined as: An agreement between two or more persons to engage jointly in an unlawful or criminal act, or an act that is innocent in itself but becomes unlawful when done by the combination of actors. These are “Little c” types of conspiracies and they occur all the time. Yet, the term “Conspiracy Theory” does not attach. What does it take to elevate a run-of-the-mill “Little c” conspiracy into a full fledged “Conspiracy Theory“???

Most dictionaries define Conspiracy Theory as “a theory that explains an event or set of circumstances as the result of a secret plot by usually powerful conspirators.”  Using this definition, it is easy to see how the 9-11 Truthers and Moon Landing Deniers fit the mold. Only POWERFUL conspirators could have pulled these tricks off. After all, there were videos of both events.

But, I would argue that a really good Conspiracy Theory needs at least two more elements to rise above the simple “Little c” conspiracy level.  First, a relatively large number of conspirators to participate in the cover-up activities. Second, the conspiracy needs to be about something important and out of the ordinary which requires a lot of cover-up activities. Once again, applying these criteria to the 9-11 Truthers and Moon Landing Deniers, show they fit easily into this enhanced criteria.

Both 9-11 and the Moon landing were important events and out of the ordinary, and any conspiracy would have required a lot of participants and cover-up activities. It would have taken a large number of active conspirators to plant bombs in the World Trade center, and steal aircraft, and crash them. It would have taken a lot to cover it all up. It would have taken large numbers of active conspirators  to act in the Moon Landing re-enactment, and film it, and design all the props. Plus, it would have required large numbers of silent onlookers willing to just keep their mouths shut about what was really going on, and help cover it up. For example, the people sitting at their computer screens and looking at blinking lights in Cape Canaveral pretending something real was going on.

And, the large numbers of conspirators is one of the things which make the real Conspiracy Theories hard to swallow in the first place, because people like to talk. The more active conspirators and the more silent onlookers  involved, the less likely the story is true, or even possible. Plus, the more activity required to make the conspiracy work, the more people who must be involved.  From the carpenters and electricians down to the people delivering pizzas to them. All this extra activity also make the  Conspiracy Theory seem more bizarre and implausible. With that behind us, let us examine Birtherism to see if ever fit any of the criteria for a genuine Conspiracy Theory.

Birtherism, insofar as it relates to an overseas birth, would have required a fake or phony birth certificate be filed in 1961 in Hawaii. This would have required but two conspirators. One, presumably a grandparent, and two, a willing participant at the Bureau of Vital statistics. Once a fake birth certificate was placed into the files in 1961, it would require little or no further activity from that point forward.  Any driver’s licenses or bar applications or passports would have required no active conspirators or silent onlookers. Yet, the Obotski have repeatedly portrayed Birtherism as implicitly requiring these unnecessary participants.

How much activity would it have taken to pull this off? Not much. No carpenters behind the scenes. No, directors or scripts. No actors or extras. No pyrotechnics or stunt doubles. No criminal mastermind to put it all together.  No, document fraud was pretty easy in those days of 1961. In fact, birth certificate fraud itself is pretty easy. Doubt it???  Here, is a link to a 31 page government report about Birth Certificate Fraud:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/54392994/Birth-Certificate-Fraud

Would faking a birth certificate require powerful conspirators??? Nope. Just a grand parent and a clerk. Would faking a birth certificate require large numbers of people acting to cover anything up??? Assuming a birth in a third world country in 1961 would have even resulted in a birth certificate, maybe a bribe or two to lift it from the files. Such things happen regularly, and are not anything out of the ordinary. But strictly speaking, even this would not have been required.

Would it have required large numbers of silent onlookers to fake an Hawaiian  birth certificate??? Again, no. Was Obama’s birth in 1961 an important event??? Not outside of his family. Yet, again the Obotski take this opportunity to mis-characterize Birtherism as requiring the fakery be tied to Obama’s presidential aspirations 50 years after the fact.  This is a blatant attempt to mislead. Few, if any Birthers, have ever maintained the fakery was done so that Obama might one day be president.  Frankly, I have never seen it set forth that way outside of Obotski scribblings. There were good reasons for Obama’s family to want him to be an American citizen in 1961 which had nothing whatsoever to do with running for president.

Might a politician or two, or some other people, have become involved in this along the way??? It is possible, but not necessary. Only one or two people in Hawaii have ever seen the actual original paperwork. If they were involved in some way, it would only have been 50 years years after the fact, and in more of the cover up role.  And still, the number of conspirators could be counted on one hand. This is less than the number of people who helped cover up Arnold Schwarzenegger’s love child for ten years. Sometimes these things just take on a life of their own for political or other reasons.

This branch of Birtherism, the one questioning where Obama was born, was about possible document fraud. Document fraud is easy. It is occurring now, on a massive scale in our country. Some admit it. Some try to cover it up. Some, are employees of the government. These things have a life of their own.

Summing this all up, it is clear that among the Birthers who questioned whether or not Obama was born in Hawaii, there was never a  need for a Grand Unified Conspiracy Theory to tie it all together. The Obotski who said there was, were simply lying, or carelessly parroting the lies of others.
